Facebook to use your profile photos for new Facial Recognition Technology

Giant Social Networking website, Facebook has planned to use your Facebook profile photos for its facial recognition technology. Facebook will use its user’s profile pics to its facial recognition database to speed up the process of photo tagging. According to Facebook’s Chief Privacy Officer Erin Egan “Our goal is to facilitate tagging so that people know when there are photos of them on our service,”.

Facebook is doing this to improve its “tag suggest” feature which automatically tags a person in a photo using its new facial recognition technology. With this new technology, Facebook facial recognition will automatically recognize a user face by comparing their face with the previously uploaded photos in which the user was tagged.

Hackers hijack and deface Google Palestine

Hackers in New Delhi hijacked and rerouted Google’s Palestine domain i.e google.ps to a different server apparently in objection to labelling of Palestinian territories as Israel in Google Maps. The group Hackteach claimed responsibility and left a message on the homepage. “uncle google we say hi from palestine to remember you that the country in google map not called israel. its called Palestine,” the statement read.“#Question : what would happens if we changed the country title of Isreal to Palestine in google maps !!! it would be revolution ..So Listen to rihanna and be cool :P.” Earlier this year in May, Google changed the tagline on homepage of its Palestinian edition from “Palestinian territories” to “Palestine” in line with the UN’s decision last year upgrading the Palestinians' status to "non-member observer state." But now the Palestinian version of the search engine, google.ps, has now returned to its original appearance. Apple to begin USB adapter takeback program in India

HipHop Virtual Machine by Facebook to speed-up PHP

Most popular Social networking Site Facebook has moved one step ahead at making the PHP programming language runs more quickly. Facebook has developed a PHP virtual machine, called HipHop Virtual Machine (HHVM) that can executes the PHP web programming language as much as 9 times as quickly as running PHP on large systems.
