Clean up your phone's irritating app notifications

A new year is a good opportunity for taking stock of your life and making changes, but they don’t have to be major. For example, I’ve decided that 2016 will be the year my phone annoys me a lot less.
You know how it is; you install an app and it asks if it can send you push notifications. You say yes (because notifications might be useful, right?) and before you know it you’ve got 20, 30 or more apps all notifying you about things that either can wait until you next open the app or that matter more to their developers than they do to you.
  • Someone you don’t know followed you on that service you haven’t really used since you tried it a couple of times six months ago
  • Your lives have renewed, come back and play this game!
  • Someone retweeted your tweet

Altwork Station always puts you in a position to work

I’m a big fan of standing desks. Although their direct benefits over sitting are some what iffy, they encourage you to move around and be just a little more active.

And yet, even though I’ve spent most of my work hours standing for about a year now, I still sometimes need to sit down when writing a longer post, and other times I’m even more productive from the comfort of my own bed.

Basically, I work better in different positions depending on what I’m doing, but it’s inconvenient having to constantly switch my desk height and chair position.
